The Richmond River Story 1964

Supplement to The Northern Star

In 1964 the Northern Star produced a 64 page supplement for their 15 August issue. This was an in-depth study of each industry along the Richmond River including farming, timber, boat-building, cordial, milk, bread, clothing and many more.
It also delves into health, sport, schools, transport, roads, flood mitigation and other community services to give a snapshot of how the Richmond and the surrounding district is thriving.

The entire supplement has been transcribed by volunteers from the Transcription Team so that it is now a searchable document for researchers and historians. It is not available on Trove as they (usually) only collect newspapers prior to the 1950s.
